Superb 4K Picture and Gaming but…..

TV has a dimming/Flickering problem that 90% of early adopters are experiencing currently. During certain darker scenes the TV will flicker brighter and darker like the TV does not know what to settle on. It is completely distracting and needs to be fixed with firmware or this TV will see alot of returns. I will raise this rating once fixed hopefully through an update before my return window closes. Check video link for example .

I’m very impressed with the picture quality of the Q8F. The clarity and resolution are by far the best I’ve seen from all the other brands I looked at. For me it’s worth every cent I paid.

Set Up & Features are Beyond Expectations

This Samsung TV was one of the best decisions we’ve made.

The picture is beyond CRISP ! The “smart” TV setup was so simply I could hardly believe the ease. It identified all HDMI plugins and made the password and username portion of the install a snap.

The ease of moving from regular Direct TV, Netflix, YouTube, & Amazon Prime is seamless. I’m very, very happy with thought and execution of the Samsung Brand!

You have a loyal customer that will make Samsung our choice for 3 more Televisions we plan to immediately install in our home. My office, our guest room, & our master bedroom.

Thanks for requesting our input for this survey. Happy to provide a 5 STAR approval in all areas.

    An excellent experience

I’m very happy with my Q8. It’s picture quality is superb, very customizable but easy to use, and the anti reflective coating does a great job compared to my old TV. 4K movies look stunning and the dark scene reproduction is great in all my TV shows! Lots of detail even in very low light scenes. Overall the whites come off as balanced not overwhelming you. The ambient light sensor does a good job at balancing brightness with color! I’m glad it can run PC resolutions too, running 120Hz 1440p for my PC as a monitor, the color is stunning compared to a normal gaming monitor.

One of the best 55″ TV’s on the market

This TV is wonderful, its a powerhouse. I used to buy middle of range TV’s thinking that high class TV’s are not worth it. I finally decided to go all in and according to other review sites this Q8F Samsung is one of the best 55″ TV’s you can get. Spending a month and half with it, I can say this TV is amazing. I love how great video games look, movies look, and how good cable look on the TV as well and on top of the quality looking great, the One Remote is a solid device. The one remote lets me control my xbox for movie watching, my playstation, my cable, and my soundbar its great to be able to have one remote for all my products and not have to pay for a Harmony remote. This TV deserves the praise it gets and I am firm believer in QLED.

    Fabulous screen, mediocre remote

I’ve upgraded from a 2011 Samsung UN55D8000 Smart TV that was top tier tv back in the day.
That “old” TV had thinner bezels than my new Q8FN, not to mention a much thinner profile too, but it definitely could not hold a candle to the contrast, black levels, and color of my new 55″ Q8FN. So that’s an acceptable trade-off.
One thing that irks me though about the Q8FN TV is the silly remote control. Why, Samsung? Why dumb things down on the remote control to the point of making it a frustrating experience to control the TV?
Luckily I discovered that my old remote control from the old TV works perfectly on the new one, so I bought a replacement BN59-01199F remote controller to substitute that joker’s stick they call a remote.
As for the Q8FN’s performance, I’m really impressed with the picture quality, black levels, and brightness it can render, although I’m noticing that on certain programs, the color rendition of things such as the grounds on PGA tour telecasts render the grass a neon green shade that’s not natural-looking.
Most other programs look fantastic, although sometimes a bit too vibrant to be believable sometimes, and I’ll leave it up to you to make up your mind after seeing it with a variety of programming.
Finally, I have to bring up the annoying advertising that cannot be deactivated on the SmartHub menus. Samsung must know that we, the buying customers do not appreciate being force-fed unwanted advertising on expensive components that we buy. We also do not appreciate the absurd privacy invasion and data tracking and spying on our activities that Samsung engages in. Just read the terms of service that you have to agree to and cannot decline without losing functionality to know what I mean.
Overall, the TV is truly brilliant with a stunning ability to render beautiful images, but the privacy invasion and forced advertisements detract from the appeal of this television.
I have decided to not agree to the terms of service invasion of privacy and data collection/spying practices, and in turn have given up the voice recognition and replaced the button-starved remote they included with a traditional IR remote that Samsung makes and works great with this TV.

    Picture quality is outstanding

This is the first tv I have had where people stop and look in awe at it. Everything from the color to the clarity is just outstanding. The speaker quality leaves something to be desired, but decline in speaker seems to be an industry trend not so much a tv issue. Overall it’s a very nice tv with outstanding color and detail that is great fit everything from sports to games.

The Qled Samsung TVs have improved

This year’s lineup if definitely an unpgrade, as to be expected. Color very deep while also being vibrant, the full array display was a great choice for a tv like this. The compatibility to other samsung device is great considering I have a few that I was able to connect to. The home menu is easy to guide through while having a good selection of apps already preinstalled and also downloadable if necessary. Really worth every cent.

    Beautiful design, excellent picture!

This is a great looking TV! It has a clean, modern design that compliments my decor. With previous flat screens I had cords hanging from the back that were visible and a distraction from the design. I like that the Samsung allows me to run the cords through the TV stand. This gives the TV a much neater appearance than my previous TV. The Samsung QLED is also very user friendly. The smart remote and interactive menu walked me through the steps of configuring my settings. If I had any question, I could ask the remote and it would guide me in the right direction.

Now that I’ve had the TV for a week, I’ve been most impressed with the QLED’s picture quality. The difference in my old Smart TV and the 4k HDR is shocking. It actually took me a few days to get used to the sharpness of the picture. The QLED also has cool features like a built in eco sensor that automatically adjusts the brightness of the TV. I’m also a big fan of the “auto game mode” feature which automatically turns on game mode when I turn on my PlayStation. The screen adjusts the color and sharpness of the picture to match the games settings.

My only criticism of the QLED is that the stand doesn’t swivel. Sometimes I want to watch TV from the kitchen while I cook, so it would be nice if I had the option. Overall, it’s a great TV and I’ve been really happy with my choice.

    Easy to use Excellent Picture

I bought the 55″ QLED 4K UHD and was able to use it right out of the box. Set up time was minimal. The TV comes preloaded with streaming apps so once my passwords were entered I was viewing.

The remote has a voice controls so navigating the apps and content is really easy.

I have another brand’s sound bar that the tv recognized as soon as I plugged it in then gave me control with the Samsung remote.

The picture quality of the 4k UHD is amazing! Colors pop and the action visuals are really smooth. The definition picks up way more detail than I have experienced with other smart TVs.

I will say, I am used to black bezels not the silver around this TV. We will see if I can get used to it. And I am on the fence how comfortable I am knowing I had to agree to terms for Samsung to collect data my TV produces and what they now have access to.

Overall, a great TV to use and view.

    Color is on point

GLAD I switched back to Samsung! This model (“QLED 55”) is on-point. I mounted it in the living room at my cabin (bright, constant sun) so the anti reflective screen (ultra black elite) is a bonus because the color automatically corrects to filter out the shadows. As far as color itself, it’s the difference between this TV and my previous TV (VIZIO) is CRAZY!! Definitely the most vibrant color I’ve seen in a TV. The voice assistance feature is a need I didn’t know I had…I now love changing the channel using the smart remote. This TV was an investment but 100% worth the purchase price for the quality and reputability.

I’ve owned this tv a couple weeks now. The colors the contrast is how can I say awesome. Uniform blacks that are deep really make dark scenes stick out. Watching movies with the black bars is great they stay nice and dark and I don’t see them getting polluted with light. My only issue Is at least with my unit is the dirty screen affect not the worst I’ve scene but would expect better from this tier of tv. Other than that a great tv buy it and enjoy especially if your a gamer

Great TV quality, not so great features

I just bought this TV assuming it would have the same addition capabilities as the Q7/Q9. Apparently the No-Gap Wall Mount and OneConnect are not compatible with the Q8FN. Just a word of warning to all of you out there. The Q7FN is basically the same TV but I have been informed by Samsung Support that you get the OneConnect box included on that model, not the Q8FN.

Phenomenal picture! Excellent software! Best TV remote ever! Speakers are great! But, I have exchanged it once because of pixels going out. The second one is now developing pixel outages? I am a “Samsung everything” user. This is disappointing for the price.

Great picture quality, but poor panel quality

I just recently went through 3 of these sets and all had dead pixels and varying degrees of dirty screen effect. I really liked nearly everything about the TV and would’ve given it a higher rating, but I shouldn’t have received 3 defective panels in this price range. Therefore, I ended up giving up and didn’t try for a 4th time. I may try again another time, because I’m hopeful that was just a bad batch. However, I’m quite jaded after wasting over a week dealing with these defects (buying, unpacking, repacking, driving to the store, exchanging, testing etc.). Now I’m left with no TV and conflicted on what to buy next…

Bought this tv about a week ago and continue to like the vibrant colors and features. I have it in a dark room downstairs and adjusted the expert picture options to suit my needs. Play around with controls and you can find some recommendations on the internet, yet try out what works for you. Set up was easy. Good functions if you already have a Samsung phone to connect. I have an older but effective surround sound system that works fine with it. The speaker is actually okay for this type of tv, much better than older Samsung I have from 2012.

Delivered with my new wall unit beginning of October, 2018. The setup was extremely easy and any setting I configured either watching TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime, HD Blu-ray, or gaming, was remembered by the TV without having to change the picture mode every time. Extremely light and easy to hang. The picture it delivers is very nice. My wife always says it looks like it is real. That good. I would have purchased a qf9, however Samsung chose not to produce a 55″. I am happy with the qf8.

this tv would be amazing if it didnt have so much DSE (dirty screen effect). I cant deal with it. Its so distracting. A Tv this expensive should have very little to no DSE. Im exchanging it for a new one. Hopefully i get one with little to none of it or ill have to buy something different. Disappointed because other than that, the tv is very impressive.

    Not smooth at all

For such a beautiful tv it’s very jittery and way to clear. Watching the Two Towers in 1080p it looked like actors on a stage and watching house hunters as the camera panned around the room the picture jitters. I have owned a 2013 1080 p Samsung with a refresh rate of 480 and it never jitters and looks very good. I was hoping the upgrade would be much better instead it was worse. I will say this though the interface with my components was very good and the colors were better but not worth the price so I returned it.
