    Love it!

It is so easy to setup! Has great volume and sound, looks amazing. I would recommend this to my friends.

    Very clear

I read a lot of reviews on this before I bought it so I knew it wasn’t going to be heavy on the bass. This unit is very clear and distortion free even at loud volumes and it can get very loud. I keep it on pretty low so I don’t disturb the neighbors. This is also why I didn’t go after something with deep bass since it wouldn’t work well in my environment. For anyone who wants very clear sound with an easy setup I would recommend this product.

I bought a new tv as well and set everything up together and it was very painless.

its missing only one thing that keeps it from getting 5/5

i know this can be fixed in an update but it really needs to have Dolby Atmos!!!! I bought this because its the latest and greatest yet at this point I’m disappointed, I bought the best TV on the market by getting the 55″ Class Q8FN QLED Smart 4K UHD TV (2018). I truly have never seen anything so nice! best display in the world! with great sound by itself. I bought this expecting the lastest and the greatest sound to go with it!

I will give this 5/5 when it get dolby atmos!!!! if not i want to return it for one that will get it

    Low Subwoofer Output

We heard a demonstration of the MS650 soundbar and 700 subwoofer and were blown away by the great sound. However, after purchasing the units and setting them up to watch movies we were disappointed at the low output of the subwoofer. The subwoofer did not shake the walls like the demonstration but we thought it must be normal based on our cable company. This seems to be an issue that many people have had. We tried updated the firmware as recommended and that did not work. Finally we decided to send it in for service. When the soundbar and subwoofer were returned to us, supposedly repaired, they were not paired together and had the same disappointing sound. We have had many home theatre systems including high-end systems and know how they should sound and how they are wired. At this point we have no choice but to dispose of the system since it was not repaired and has the same disappointing sound. We would not recommend this system based on our experience.

    Best bang for your buck

Great sound bar. Very loud and immersive. Subwoofer is underwhelming. You need too buy the sub for this too like it truly

    Excellent add-on to a TV!

Got this because while the Tv’s have pretty good sound, it’s just not great. This soundbar fills that gap nicely. I have mine setup to work with the optical digital cable, but it is capable of many different connections. This thing rocks!

    Great Soundbar

I picked up HW-MS650 Soundbar (Bestbuy) and started to add the sub (Bestbuy) & rear speakers (Amazon) SWA-9000S. The Dolby effect is awesome and even the sub which is not the overpowering kind sounds great. Since I got all at a decent sale price this setup is worth it and I am very happy with it.

    OMG this rocks

I bought the soundbar about 2 weeks ago. It’s kind of heavy for the tv mount and soundbar bracket combo. I was pretty happy with it UNTIL i bought the rear speaker samsung swa-9000S.. this combo is PHENOMENAL. Rich sound. Great bass. Excellent adjusting settings. louder than I’ll ever need!! And i have hearing aides and don’t need them for this.!! My boy playing Fortnite you hear EVERYTHING.

    Awful for having 9 speakers…

I bought this along a Samsung Q8 series QLED TV. I’m not sure if I received a bad unit but it keeps losing the settings and no matter what I do it just sounds very flat. Almost no bass perception at all. In contrast, I got the cheapest Bose Solo 5 that only has two speakers and the bass and highs are a LOT better.
I would NOT recommend this product.

Not much better than TV speakers

Wish I’d paid closer attention to the reviews. As with others, I have found the soundbar to be of no help. It sounds cheap and there is no bass, even after adjusting and changing to “surround” as suggested. I have ordered rear speakers to see if it helps, if not, this unit is going back.

    Frustrated Al

    Nice size, great sound.

I bought this along with a 65″ Class Q6FN QLED Smart 4K UHD TV (2018). Love the TV and the soundbar except for a couple of issues: no power cable from soundbar to tv and soundbar power shuts off after 5 minutes of no audio from tv. Interface to tv utilizing an HDMI cable. Soundbar document says the power should not shut off for 15 minutes of no audio from tv. Talked to customer service multiple times (8 top 10), returned the unit twice for service, no problem found, without any explanation of why it powers off To date ( 3 months) still don’t have and answer. Would be great if Samsung would resolve this issue.

The Pro’s at Samsung recommended this soundbar for my 65″ Class NU8000 Premium Smart 4K UHD TV. First, the samsung – HW-MS650 Sound+ Premium Soundbar is big. When it sits in front of the T bar (base of Samsung TV) you need at least 20 inches. Also it blocks the sensor on the remote if you are sitting low. I have to raise the remote above the sound bar to use it. There is a space between the tv and front bar, but the designers at Samsung are did not think. The old model TV sits on 2 side stands and the MS-6500 sits in between. The white power cord is also very noticeable and cannot be hidden. Why white? Very little base. would still need to buy a sub. It might work if I mounted the TV and mounted the soundbar,

It’s very good sound and bass

I purchased the soundbar, sub and satellite’s. Make sure you update the unit using the Samsung multiroom app for the best experience. I really wanted a setup that provided excellent low bass and this delivers. Even without the sub, the soundbar has respectable bass. The satellite speakers volume can be increased or decreased based on the content. It really sounds excellent. I play spotify through wifi and it is the best quality soundbar system I’ve heard at this price point.

    Goes to sleep too soon

Wish there were a way to either lengthen the interval of silence before the bar goes to sleep or disable it entirely. It’s frustrating to finish a movie then go get coffee and come back to find the sound bar shut off.

    Good but hard to mount

I have been using this for 3 weeks now. Easy set up, my Samsung TV detected it right away with a bluetooth connection.
The bass is adequate and truly no need for sub woofer, this is one of the selling points of the soundbar. If in the future you need sub woofer, its easy to add which is another great selling point.
My only issue with this soundbar is how hard it is to mount it. I can not make holes in the wall and the back of the soundbar has no holes, only under it. This means that most universal mounting kits will not work with this. On top of this, the samsung sound+ soundbar mounting kit that is advertised as the designed solution is no longer available. I have searched everywhere for this and its either out of stock or discontinued. They should have thought about this mounting problem or include the mounting kit with the product.
If you have no mounting issues, this bar is great especially at the discounted price.

Sounds good, constantly displays connection issue

The soundbar works good, but it frequently asks if it can connect to the network through the tv, they were both Samsung and purchased on the same day. It is really annoying, and I wish I would have gone with a different soundbar because of it.

    Amazing Sound!

This Sound bar is amazing! Love the sound and I am glad I don’t need stands, a big box at the corner. The sound is great, very loud, so I keep it on number 8 at night and no more than 14 durring the day. Sleek design and I love how the remote match the TV and Disc Player, just a little tiny longer, but thats how I know which one is what. Love it Love it, Planning on getting a new one for the Living room to Listen to music.

    Auto Power Down Function sucks

If I knew in advance that it has Auto Power Down Function that you can’t disabled – I wouldn’t buy it regardless of price or sound quality. The fact that I have to pay attention to what is actually producing sound (TV or soundbar) is ridiculous. You pause video and when you return Soundbar is turned off. It’s sad that I realized it so late and can’t return it back to the store. Only this simple “feature” makes it not wanting to recommend it (or any Samsung soundbar with this feature) to a friend.

I bought them a month ago. Comcast set them up but I am unable to program them to my WiFi, or my Samsung SmartTV connection guide, get decent sound through my tv via streaming or standard tv programs. Tried getting in touch with Samsung Tech Support to come out. They called me once, I tried returning their call to no avail.

    Great sound, poor auto-off feature

So, this gets 4 to 5 stars in the audio department. Its a great sounding speaker. Amazing for music, good for movies/tv, a surprisingly full sound (bass/mid/treble) for a sound bar. Some of this probably comes from the size. It’s a large bar. Heavy, wide, and thick. Much larger than soundbars I have had in the past, and a good 2x the size of the soundbar that replaced it (the newer N650). So, with such great sound, why replace it? This was used in the bedroom. The problem is that while we are watching TV (esp. the wife) there is often a lot of pausing to deal with the kids, or the million other reasons you pause a show. Normally you would think this isn’t a big deal. With this soundbar, it shuts off after 10 mins (there is no way to change this), and since there is no IR, so there is no way to turn it back on without standing up and hitting the power button. There are other options, you can turn the TV off and back on, use the app – which takes just as long to load and toggle the audio on the soundbar as standing up. To call this frustrating would be an understatement, and my wife actually wanted me to just return it. Instead I bought the newer Samsung N650, which doesn’t shutoff after 10 mins, and has IR built in, so you can turn it back on easily ever if it does, and I’ll be moving the MS650 to the porch, where it serves light duty as an audio device. Samsung could fix this with a firmware update, but doesn’t seem interested in doing so, as if you search the forums, auto-off has been a frustrating issue for many for a while.

The downside of replacing it, is that the N650 doesn’t sound quite as full as a standalone bar. It includes a subwoofer to make up for this, but if I were to do a direct side-by-side comparison between the two, I think the MS650 would actually slightly edge out the N650, and would significantly do so without the N650 subwoofer. The upside (other than getting a good SB for the porch, which I was going to buy anyway) is that the N650 does have more “presence”. With the MS650, the sound comes from the SB. The N650 also gives you the feeling of sound coming from around you. It doesn’t have the same impact as actual dedicated surround/height speakers, but it does add a bit to the immersion when watching movies and shows.

Final note, this is an amazing sounding bar for the prices you can find it for, however if this is for a location where you might be pausing the action often, I would buy a newer Samsung bar, either the N or Q line.

Works fine with some minor issues

I was interested in this product because I didn’t want a large subwoofer hoggig up floorspace and I didn’t have the need to be blasted out of the room with bass. It seemed to be a good choice. I guess what sound mode you should choose might depend on the dvd or bluray that you are watching because I HAVE noticed a difference between movies. That said, I got pretty tired of playing with different modes for each movie and trying to second guess what I should select, so for the most part I just stick with the smart mode, although there are times when something else might be better.

The soundbar is connected to a Sony X900E and while I think the sound for the tv isn’t that bad (I’m not a raging audiophile…) the HW-MS650 does improve it. My issues? I hate the time lag before I hear sound upon start up – about 15 seconds. Most annoying is when the sound either quits on its own or when I change a channel, find that I need to adjust the sound level up or down (because it’s never consistent across broadcast tv) and the sound level is stuck in place. This happens about once, maybe twice in an evening. In that instance I need to turn the soundbar off and then back on again. That means that I will have the annoying 15 second delay again before I hear anything. I can’t recall this happening with dvd/bluray movies, just broadcast tv. When I first purchased the soundbar I hooked it up with the optical cable for a day, then bought a quality hdmi cable and connected it to the HDMI/ARC on the TV. I mentioned this issue to a salesman at Best Buy and he opined that it was most likely an ARC issue. (Whatever that means.) I’ve only seen a few references to this as an issue for anyone else. It’s irritating but I guess I’ll live with it. I have a rotten internet connection so if there’s a firmware fix… I’d be dead before it ever made it to the soundbar.

Overall, I’m satisfied. I didn’t want booming bass and I don’t have to deal with it. It has improved sound for movies and I’ve found that when bass is relevant to the movie, I get some without getting blasted around the room. Given that my wife wouldn’t tolerate that anyway, I’m fine with it. Voice is generally clear but again that might depend on what you are watching. I was very surprised to find that with some TV programs the sound was vastly improved… Gotham for example. When I tested the unit with music cd’s, I found that the Lord of the Rings music cd’s to be a good representation of sound.
