Great picture, great value , but not top dog

The size is obviously great and the picture is great when the son is out.During night time and when you are watching a movie with wife screen you can see the light come through the edge. It annoys the heck out of me!

    Fantastic 4K UHD TV

We are loving this TV! I was not anticipating the unexpected bonus that this 4K essentially will upconvert your non Blu-ray DVD collection or old personal recordings on VHS copied to DVD to near Hi-Definition. They are 100 percent watchable again. No snow on the old VHS era stuff and near the sharpness and definition of HD. I have my whole video library back!

We love the remote control which is very intelligent and easy to use. It is so simple that evidently some people cannot figure it out. Samsung Engineers have really thought out and programmed this remote/TV combination that you don’t need 50 buttons to enter channel numbers and other specific commands. Each button is multi-functional and you get used to it almost instantly.

The TV was up and running with my Home Theatre system in almost minutes. It replaces a very expensive 75 inch DLP HDTV that died prematurely. That TV required to you to program every input and it drove me nuts trying to get it to sync up easily with my Home Theatre equipment. The Samsung NU8000 did it automatically in seconds! I am able to switch to the Home Theatre system and Blu-ray player in a second. No requirement for 3 remotes and 15 different commands!

The 82 inch screen really gives the immersive movie theater experience at home. Black areas in a scene are truly black. If there is one thing I wish that it had, it would be 3D. It pains me that I now have a bunch of useless 3D movies.

    TV dead in three weeks

Brand new, ordered directly from Samsung website. Product packaging was in perfect condition when it was delivered and was installed two days later. TV worked well for two weeks in a business environment (whole building is on UPS and conditioned power). We were told today when someone went to use it, the TV was clicking over and over.

You can hear the power relay click over and over, roughly every second, and the power LED flashes in time with the clicks. You can even see the faintest indication of the Samsung logo appear on the screen for a fraction of a second before it disappears again, then repeats – the TV is clearly turning on and off repeatedly. Disconnecting from power two separate times, and leaving for at least two hours each time – same result when plugged in. Plug it in and it immediately starts clicking.

I’m guessing Samsung is going to be unresponsive and do nothing for me. I initiated chat with support already since that is all that is available to me. After being directed to do silly things like “please turn the TV off and unplug it” (I can’t turn it of or on since it tries to power cycle itself over and over the second it is plugged in), “then plug it in and turn it on – now, with the TV on…” (like I said, I cannot turn it on or off!). After basic questions I was asked to hang on while I was passed along to a department that is better suited to my problem – then 20 full minutes of silence/no chat. I asked “Hello?” every two minutes. No response. Am I really supposed to assume I am still connected with anyone? Are you kidding me that this is the support Samsung offers?

Does not play AVI format from WD home network

I bought 82″ TV model UN82NU800DFXZA from California Costco store on 11/11/2018. This is the only Samsung TV that does not play AVI format from Western Digital (WD) home network. I updated to new firmware but still not work it pop out the message that it does not support this format. I owed a total 6 of Samsung TV. I chatted with Samsung rep, they said it support AVI and that is wrong. Please check again and update firmware to make it work on AVI.

Samsung 82″ Class NU8000 Premium Smart 4K is JUNK

I bought this Samsung 82″ Class NU8000 Premium Smart 4K TV about a month ago. It failed when it was removed box and Samsung will NOT fix or replace it. Samsung knows the 82″ Class NU8000 Premium Smart 4K TV is weak and subject to be easily damaged. That is why they add the plastic strips to the edges of the TV. To spend $2300 on a TV and then have it break before you ever use it is a rip off. I have owned several large screen TVs and this is the only one that has ever had a problem. Samsung makes a lot of good products, but this is NOT one of them and the FACT Samsung won’t stand behind their product leaves you completely stuck.
